How to Turn On Night Shift on Your MacBook

If you spend a lot of time on your Mac, then you need to check out the Night Shift option on your Apple computer. If you don’t already know, the Night Shift feature tones down the display of your Mac and reduces the blue lights on the screen, which, in effect, reduces strain on your eyes and allows you to sleep better.

So if you’re all in for a better night sleep, then you must enable this awesome feature on your Mac, and when the sun goes down, your Mac can automatically shift into (pardon the pun) Night Shift mode.

Not sure how to do it? Here’s your guide!

1.  Launch System Preferences from the Apple menu on the top bar.

2. Click on Displays.

1.  Launch System Preferences from the Apple menu on the top bar.

2. Click on Displays.

5. Here, you can choose between Custom setting, or Sunset to Sunrise, based on your preference.

If you choose Sunset to Sunrise, the Night Shift mode will automatically turn on and off at your local sunset and sunrise times.

6. If you wish, you can turn on the Night Shift manually by checking the Manual box. This will turn on the Night Shift till sunrise the next day unless you turn it off yourself.

7. Lastly, you can choose the Color Temperature of your Mac’s display depending on your comfort level. Drag the slider in the last settings to see what temperature fits you best, and once you’re satisfied, simply close the tab, and you’re done!

Conclusion

The Night Shift feature for your Mac is truly one of the most useful features Apple’s integrated into your computer. It helps you stay focused on work and does not put a lot of strain on your eyes, which is really amazing. So make sure you switch it on when working after sunset so you can have a peaceful night of sleep!
